Paramount House Hotel – Breathe Architecture

Surry Hills, Sydney

Nestled amongst the cafés, restaurants, bars and boutiques of Sydney’s chic Surry Hills, Paramount House Hotel resides in the former Paramount Studios. Celebrating the history of the heritage building, many original details, finishes and buildings remnants from the past have been left intact, whilst designers, Breathe Architecture, meticulously modernised the building in understated elegance. Co-tenanted by Golden Age Cinemas, the Paramount Coffee Project, The Office Space and Paramount Recreation Club, there isn’t a need that goes un-serviced, nor a need to leave the hotel…

With no two rooms the same, each abode presents the visitor with a unique experience of modern luxury and effortless cool. With a distinct focus on raw and honest materiality, brass, terrazzo, stone-washed linens, natural blonde timbers and black steel framed windows present a lush and tactile palette (with plenty of houseplants to keep you company). Atop the hotel, an architectural copper structure frame’s the heritage building, offering a calming, filtered, dappled light to the enclosed terraces within. Herein Tait’s iconic Jak chairs in sleek black and seated happily on the enclosed terrace with views of the stylish Surry Hills streets below.
