Introducing Tait’s New Brisbane Showroom



For the first time, Tait is expanding into the Queensland market with a new home in Fortitude Valley. With showrooms in Melbourne and Sydney, this Queensland presence represents a new era for Tait.

Established in 1992 by husband and wife, Gordon and Susan Tait, the Australian, family-owned furniture business began in a small factory in Melbourne, Australia. Gordon, a sheet metal craftsman, and Susan, a creative textile designer, noticed an absence of well-designed, well-made outdoor products with a commitment to positive environmental and social outcomes.

Tait is all about superbly crafted, high-performance products, that are made for life. The range is reflective of Australia’s enviable outdoor lifestyle, built to withstand diverse climate conditions and informed by a distinctly Australian palette.

The new Queensland location, in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, is the first time the business has had a presence in the city.

“Tait’s philosophy is built around creating Australian-made, sustainable furniture that lasts a lifetime while supporting the local community. The new Brisbane Showroom, located within The Flooring Co. provides a new avenue to showcase what Tait has to offer not just for outdoor space, but also for commercial projects,” says Susan Tait.

The Tait Melbourne and Sydney Showrooms are light, tranquil indoor spaces, cleverly designed to look and feel like an outdoor one, supporting an understanding of the products’ diverse applications – from shopping centers, hotels, educational spaces, residential spaces, and workplaces.

The Brisbane Showroom is a compact space, perfect for catch-ups and conversations about people-centric design.

“Catering primarily to commercial projects requiring long-term, in-depth consultations, on or off-site, our expert team is committed to understanding your needs in detail, customising to your needs, and providing excellence every step of the (very fun) way,” says Susan Tait.
