Perched on the edge of Ku-ring-gai National Park, Church Point Residence is a study in harmony, where architecture and landscape converge in quiet sophistication. ‘Our initial concept was to anchor the interiors in the natural tones of the surrounding landscape sandstone, eucalyptus and terracotta layering warmth, texture and soft curves as the home rises,’ describes Studio Pulp Director Ben Selke. ‘As you move through each level, the palette gradually deepens, evoking the feeling of carving into the earth and revealing its quiet strata. The intention was to create a home that feels grounded, warm and timeless, while expressing individuality with a subtle, lived-in sophistication.’ This poetic progression creates a tactile narrative that speaks of permanence and connection to place.
Beyond the interiors, the outdoor spaces demanded equal consideration. ‘The balance of durability, comfort and refined simplicity in the Tait range aligned naturally with the project’s overall design objectives,’ Ben explains. ‘The pieces needed to support an active outdoor lifestyle while remaining low-maintenance, and Tait’s Australian-made construction delivered exactly that.’
‘The extensive powdercoat options allowed us to curate a palette that worked seamlessly with the interior scheme while echoing the muted greens and warm earth tones of the adjacent Ku-ring-gai National Park,’ continues Ben. ‘This ensured the outdoor furniture felt like a considered extension of the home, robust, timeless and completely integrated with the broader design concept.’ Every element, from the curve of a chair to the tone of the table, reinforces the broader design concept: a residence that belongs to its landscape, not imposed upon it. More than a dwelling, Church Point is a crafted experience. Each material, each detail, and each piece of furniture contributes to a narrative of balance – where nature and design coexist in quiet dialogue, offering a sanctuary that feels both contemporary and timeless.
