Saltbush by Tait x Country Road

In collaboration with Country Road, we have created the perfect poolside experience for the Australian lifestyle. The Saltbush setting celebrates design heritage, quality and craftsmanship — values integral to both of us.

We’re thrilled to have expanded on our ongoing relationship with the well-loved fashion, homewares and lifestyle brand. In past years, we’ve showcased our pieces in selected stores over the holiday period. This year we’ve been working on something quite special – a limited-edition collection of outdoor furniture.

Distinctly Australian

The range is named ‘Saltbush’ in homage to the resilient (and delicious) native plant that thrives across Australian environments—just like our products—from coastal beaches to inland bush. Featuring a Lounger, plus nesting Occasional Table and Side Table, the collection is proudly made in our Melbourne factory.

Head-turning & hard-working

Inspired by the 1970s—when Country Road was founded—Saltbush is informed by our expertise in stainless steel crafting and imbued with Country Road’s distinct tactility with the inclusion of porcelain and 100% recycled boucle. The materials palette is warm and inviting — yet hardy enough to withstand challenging outdoor conditions. Importantly, with both brands sharing a sustainable ethos, the materials are also recyclable.

Creative collaboration

Celebrating its 50th birthday, the iconic Australian brand has been delighting loyal fans and attracting new followers with a curated roll-call of creative collaborators including 3rd-generation family potters Robert Gordon, textile designer and artist Julie White and social enterprise streetwear label HoMie. We are honoured to have been invited into the fold.

‘To celebrate our 50 years, we wanted to bring two iconic Australian design-led brands together and collaborate on the perfect poolside setting for the Australian lifestyle,’ says Country Road Homewares Designer, Toby Nowland. ‘When you think of contemporary Australian outdoor furniture, you think of Tait. It made total sense to align with an incredible brand that shares similar values and design philosophies as Country Road.’

Saltbush will be available in select Country Road stores and online from Tuesday 3 December 2024.

We’re diverting textile offcuts from landfill

Textiles play a large part in making A Life Outside comfortable and characterful. Although improvements are always being made to our processes, some waste is unavoidable during manufacture. But with the help of After, we’ve diverted 500kg of textile waste — that’s the size of a 1-year-old elephant! — from landfill.
