Fremantle, WA
In traditional Noongar language, Moort means family – and family is exactly what this Aboriginal-owned and led design practice is built on.
A 20-year partnership between Noongar artist Peter Farmer and contemporary Australian artist and designer Jason Hirst has inspired an ongoing body of narrative-based design collaborations, formalised under the name Moort Designs. Their partnership brings together two distinct but complementary practices, forming a shared approach where contemporary design meets Noongar art.
Drawing on decades of collaboration, their work is informed by Country and shaped by stories that endure – translating cultural and artistic expression into functional design that is built to last.
